[Prompt] - Kill Your Muses

Prompt: "I want you to write about the relationship between train riders. Specifically, the emotional impact they have on each other without knowing it, and how they involve others in their own image of self or story." - Evan Aubertin

Kill Your Muses

She's got a wedding ring
More diamonds than gold
More Friends than friends
North Face, Pandora, ugg.
He's got a pair of headphones
More songs than ideas
More words than sense
Levi's, English Laundry, Goodwill

She's looking out the window
He's looking at her

She's taking softy on her phone
He's writing softly on his

She is a complex, nuanced individual
He's boiling her down to fit a prompt

She catches his eye,
Like he's a person
Nope, lady.
He's a writer,
And you're being used

This? This is Gaga
Covered by a string quartet
Super quirky.
I only write to music
You didn't ask, I'm aware.
You get off in two stops
And I have a deadline
So do something interesting

"Richard this guy,"
Probably
Don't flatter yourself: maybe
"Richard this guy kept looking at me"
Like she was a piece of meat
Writers treat filets and scraps the same, sweetheart
We cut them up and eat them
And then we brag about it.
